Coziness on Acampo

Looking back on my projects, I would consider this one to be my first “grown up” project. This master bedroom was my second project to take on and my feelings of imposter syndrome were definitely fresh and on the rise. I was flattered that people began to notice my interest and skill, but for some reason I needed more justification for myself that I was worthy of taking on projects such as these. I was fortunate to have clients who sincerely trusted me, which meant so much. I was so happy to create an ambience that felt so cozy! Fast forward a couple years later, I’m told this still seems to be a top favorite hangout room for the family and the perfect snuggle zone for this couple and their two little boys. I must have done somethin’ right! So bye bye imposter syndrome, hello long lasting confidence.

THE PROCESS

Decided to paint the bottom half of the walls a lighter color to brighten up the room which did wonders! The ceiling fan before was also way too big for the size of the room so I swapped it for a much more modern and proportional size. The dark paint and oversized fan was definitely making the space feel smaller.

Love utilizing fabric prints as wall art! IKEA has some great fabric choices and is usually my go-to.

4 words. Cost Plus World Market. One of my fave places to play around with throw pillows. Plus, they always have furniture laying around to set it down against.
