Marengo Avenue
Marengo Avenue was an incredibly fun staging project. One of my dear friends wanted to get their home ready to sell, and since the process of buying and selling is stressful enough as is, I was happy to help. Staging is such a dynamic process. There are so many people’s tastes to consider in the process, accounting for the buyer’s and seller’s perspectives. It’s important to keep things relatively neutral and help buyers imagine that they see themselves living there and want to live there.
You’d be surprised to hear that I actually find staging much easier than a more permanent design project. It’s probably because any personal items around the home must go bye bye, so convincing people to minimize things becomes super easy.
In my staging process I try to utilize as much of the current homeowner’s furniture (say hello to Mr. brown corduroy sofa below). I’m a one woman show, so there’s no way I’m hauling furniture out to bring new stuff in. Plus, this gives the homeowners an idea of how they may want to style their current stuff in their new place. Talk about past, present, and future happiness for all!
