Sophia’s Nursery
2020 was definitely a bittersweet year. Bitter for obvious reasons, but sweet because we welcomed our baby girl Sophia Hope. always thought about the day I’d be able to design my own nursery and was so happy that day finally came.I wasn’t quite sure what would happen to mgw interiors during the pandemic. I was very fortunate to be able to work and keep my job as a healthcare worker, but I also was sad to realize that mgw interiors would have to be put on hold in some ways. Since 2017 I had been taking on project after project and tried my best to juggle a full time job plus this side hustle. With baby on the way, this was also a good time to reflect on how feasible it would be to also toss in raising a daughter in the mix. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to manage it all, but I did know that I would sure as hell at least try!
Sophia’s nursery was the most fulfilling project I’ve had to date. It was also surprisingly very therapeutic to work on during quarantine. It gave me something to do and definitely kept me preoccupied. I was so thrilled with the way it came out! At the end of this project I also realized I would do my best to keep my interior design adventures going even if a full time job + side hustle + baby was going to be a major adjustment. I want to be able to teach my daughter that she really can do anything if you put make things a priority and manage your time wisely. Continuing this journey wouldn’t be just for myself, but would also give me something to share with my daughter to look back on as she grew older.
